A quiet editor with a lot underneath.

Koditor is a native Mac editor for code and text. It opens in under half a second, keeps every tab you type in, and holds its power in the menus until you reach for it.

Coming soon. Free for 14 days, for macOS 26 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel.

Five layers, each with one job.

Koditor looks simple on top. Scroll to take the window apart, or pick a layer.

Fast from the first click.

Koditor is ready before a wait would register, and it stays that quick with big files and a full day of tabs.

Koditor, opening0.00 s

This bar takes half a second to fill. Koditor opens in less, with yesterday’s tabs already back.

No waiting while you type

Letters appear the moment you press a key, even in very large files.

Big files open at once

A 10 MB file opens in under a second, and a 100 MB log without freezing.

Search a whole project

Find a word in 100,000 files and see the first results in a tenth of a second.

See it with a real project.

These are screenshots of Koditor itself, not mock-ups. Every command is also in the menu bar.

Koditor with a Swift project open: the folder's files in the sidebar, Router.swift in a tab, and marks beside the lines git sees as added and changed. Koditor's command palette: typing sort lists Sort Ascending and Sort Descending under Edit › Lines. Find in Folder in Koditor's sidebar: the word store found 13 times in 4 files, each match with its line. Koditor with all five occurrences of the word store selected, a caret at each. Koditor showing README.md beside its Markdown preview, with a heading, a code block and a table. Koditor at the end of a 330,000-line server log, with Following and Large File in the status bar. Koditor comparing staging.yml with production.yml, the changed lines marked on both sides.

Your files stay on your Mac.

Nothing to sign in to

Koditor has no account and never asks you to sign in.

No tracking

Koditor collects nothing about you, your Mac or your files.

Only your files

It can only reach the files and folders you open with it.

Try it for two weeks. Keep it for €9 a year.

Every feature is in the trial. If Koditor earns a place in your Dock, a licence keeps it there.

Free for 14 days

Questions

Something else? Write to support@koditor.app, or see Support. The person who builds Koditor answers.

What happens after the 14 days?

Without a licence, Koditor becomes read-only: your tabs and files stay, and you can read, copy and save them under a new name, but not edit them. A licence for €9 a year unlocks it again at once.

Do I need an account?

Not in the app. Koditor never asks you to sign in, and your licence is a key you paste in Koditor › Licence.

Does Koditor work offline?

Yes. It needs no connection. Only the check for updates goes online, and only if you allow it.

Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac with macOS 26 or later, with Apple silicon or an Intel processor.

Will it be in the Mac App Store?

No. Koditor will be sold here, as a disk image checked by Apple, and it updates itself from inside the app.

Will Koditor change how my files are saved?

No. Each file keeps its encoding, its line endings and its last newline, and the bytes you didn’t edit stay exactly as they were.
